As a writer and novelist, one of the major challenges that I face is finding platforms through which I can get readership and value for my contents. The lack of such platforms have frustrated many writers and would-be novelists into abandoning their dreams and pursuing other endeavors. This is why today’s young entrepreneurs strike a personal chord with me.
Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Dandy Jackson Chukwudi, a WordPress Developer and Writer, currently the CEO at InstaNovella.
Tell us about InstaNovella, what is it about and what inspired its creation?
Well, firstly, InstaNovella is a social network platform for Stories. Writers and readers get to communicate with each and lots more. Actually, there’s a Canadian company called Wattpad. We share the same view BUT to my own view, the Company is in favour of Philippines and citizens of Toronto neglecting the HUGE wealth in Africa. I thought, what if I take hold of this wealth and at the time, create an impact in the society. Unknown to me, Mr. Abadi was having the same thought. And that’s how we came up.
When did you launch and what has the response been like?
We created InstaNovella on 24 June, 2020. The response was quiet surprising… And over the past six months of activeness, we have over fifty thousand registered users. No pun intended.
What are some of the challenges you have faced so far?
Well, it is funding, funding and funding. That’s the only challenge we’ve faced so far. To make the website more user friendly adding of more features needs funds for it to be possible. We are planning on applying some A.I features for easy navigation in the site.
What is your dream for InstaNovella; what do you envision in 5-10years time?
According to a stats by CFR, 525 million Africans have access have to internet and in the next 5-10 years, the stats would definitely increase — having a billion+ users is definitely the goal in the next 5-10 years. We are the first of our Kind in Africa and to be the popular social network platform for Stories in Africa wouldn’t be bad.
