Biscuit is one of the most popular snacks in the world. It is eaten in virtually every part of the world, although each region or country has its unique method of preparation or nomenclature. Biscuit describes a variety of flour-based baked foods. They are a popular form of sustenance in Nigeria, some of the most popular types include chocolate biscuits, rich tea, digestives, hobnobs, and shortbread.

The earliest biscuit made were hard and unsweetened, and they were a form of food for the poor. But by the 7th century AD, techniques had been invented on how to make these snacks taste better and feel lighter, through the addition of eggs, cream, butter, and honey. The earliest of these sweetened biscuits is the gingerbread.

There are different methods of producing biscuits in Nigeria. In this article, I will be sharing with you two different methods. The first method is the easier and most popular route, while the other may take some time.

Like I mentioned earlier, there are different types of biscuits. This first method will describe how you can make shortbread biscuits.
